Overview
Since 2007, I have been on a journey through the evolving world of IT, transforming complex infrastructure and software challenges into streamlined, high-performing solutions. Starting as a hands-on Database Administrator, I quickly grew into leadership roles where I guided teams to deliver measurable business outcomes through strategic planning, performance optimization, and modernization initiatives.
My core expertise lies in Database Administration across SQL Server (2000–2022, Windows, Linux, Docker), Oracle (11g, 12c, 19c), and PostgreSQL (11, 13, 15,17). Over the years, I have contributed to every phase of the software engineering lifecycle from architecture and requirements analysis to design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance, ensuring systems are not only reliable and secure but also aligned with broader business strategy.
In each role, my focus has been on creating tangible impact: improving performance, enhancing security, implementing automation to streamline operations, and driving modernization to future-proof IT environments. These efforts have consistently supported critical business operations, reduced costs, and elevated operational efficiency. Certified across Project Management (PRINCE2), IT Service Management (ITIL), Database Administration (Microsoft SQL Server), RPA (Automation Anywhere), and Cloud (AWS, Azure), I combine technical depth with strategic insight to solve real-world business problems.
I hold an MCA from Sikkim Manipal University and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. Beyond work, I share my experiences and insights through my blog at www.VarinderSandhu.in, aiming to inspire others in the IT and database domain.
